The story begins like so many others. As a girl I was so insecure about my skin. I didn’t know how to take care of it. As a young teenager I didn’t know how best to compensate for the stresses and strains of daily life and the effects it had on my skin. I ignored it mostly, but that meant things got worse. As a young adult it made me more and more anxious – we are judged by many things and our skin is one of them. I realized I would have to be more active in looking after my skin.

I tried all sorts of skin care products. Some worked for a while. Some were so strong they left me with scars that took ages to heal.  Over time I tried different skincare routines but I found nothing that suited me well.  I realized that some of the products I used contained many artificial ingredients. The penny dropped that maybe there was an alternative.

I started looking for more wholesome products. I experimented with naturally derived butters and creams, making my own lotions. I told myself that if everything was organic I wouldn’t be harming my skin, and with care I could control the results. Within a few weeks I could feel a real difference – but the products were too oily or greasy. So I started again, this time focusing not just on the ingredients but the consistency and feel of what I was making. It was all on a domestic scale, but over time I refined my investigations. I improved the processes to develop stable combinations with long-lasting benefits and without the oily residues.

For a couple of years I did this just for myself, all the time becoming more professional in my small scale manufacture. My skin felt bright and healthy and it looked it too. The difference was transformational. My friends began to notice the difference and started asking questions, asking where they could find the same beauty products. At the same time I was beginning to think of the many other people with troubled skin. I knew what a misery it could be. Surely what I had learnt could benefit others too?

And that was the start of JSJ Lifestyle Products. Our entire range has been developed to help you look after your skin and stay healthy, whatever your skin type – leaving you free to get on and enjoy life. Our creams and butters, in fact all our skincare products,  are a simple, safe way to repair damaged skin and give your complexion that flawless look.
